The Mitchell Business Improvement Area is a not-for-profit organization established for the main purpose of revitalizing the central district of Mitchell. Our efforts are dedicated to ensuring a healthy economic environment for our community and making our downtown a better place to shop, dine, live, work, invest, visit and play!
Our mandate is simple: To continue to boost business in the downtown core by participating in events, creating promotions and encouraging the local businesses of Mitchell and area to come together and promote shopping local to the area residents.

What is the Business Improvement Area (BIA)?
Founded in 2009, the Mitchell BIA allows for cooperation and coordination amongst the business community in Downtown Mitchell, as well as throughout the Municipality of West Perth.
The purpose of the BIA is to collectively market Downtown Mitchell and the local area as the shopping destination for members of the community and visitors alike. As established within our constitution, every business in the Downtown area is automatically included in the BIA membership by virtue of their geographic location.
We currently have approximately 90 member businesses. For these members, a special ‘BIA levy’ is collected on their tax bill, which is based upon your commercial assessment and is used solely for the purposes designated and approved by the BIA.
