Council Highlights- November 2nd, 2026
West Perth Council Highlights | November 2, 2026
Planning & Development
- Council approved two zoning by-law amendments related to surplus farm dwelling severances at 3585 Road 164 and 5302 Line 29.
- Council supported a land severance application for 5603 Line 16, which will now proceed to the Perth County Land Division Committee for final consideration.
Financial Update
- Council received the Third Quarter Variance Report.
- Municipal finances remain in good overall condition, although higher-than-expected tax assessment write-offs and increased policing costs are creating budget pressures.
- Strong revenues from landfill operations and favourable Conservation Authority costs are helping offset some of these impacts.
Heron Industrial Park
- Council awarded the construction tender for the Heron Industrial Park servicing project to Infrastructure Limited for $5.8 million.
- The project includes road, water, sanitary sewer and stormwater infrastructure and is a significant step toward creating new industrial development opportunities in West Perth.
- Financing will be repaid through future industrial land sales rather than the municipal tax levy.
Santa Claus Parade Approved
- Council approved the Mitchell Lions Club Santa Claus Parade, scheduled for Friday, December 4, 2026.
Remembrance Day
- Council finalized wreath-laying arrangements for the November 11 Remembrance Day ceremonies.

- Mitchell Homecoming celebrations
- Arena improvements
- The Heron Industrial Park project
