Skating

The Municipality of West Perth owns and operates one arena. The West Perth Arena & Community Centre, located at 185 Wellington Street in Mitchell has one ice pad and a number of rentable community rooms.

Rules of Conduct

No food, beverages or electronic devices on ice.
Hockey sticks and pucks only permitted during private rentals.
Skating aids and strollers only permitted during Parent & Tot and private rentals.
No tag, racing, snow throwing, rough play, abusive language or facility abuse will be permitted.
Refrain from erratic and/or excessive speed skating.
Penalty boxes are out of bounds.
Listen and adhere to arena staff and announcements at all times.

Please note: the stroller operator will assume the risk of the stroller and must keep control of the stroller at all times.

Failure to comply with any of the above statements may result in the participant's removal from the program and the facility without a refund.

Skating Schedule

Sharpen your skates and get ready to hit the ice as Adult Skate, Parents and Tots and Public Skating start September 2025.

We are proud to provide opportunities for free skating throughout the week! Skating is a great way for people of all ages to engage in physical activity and socialize safely. All skill levels are welcome. More information on what is permitted on the ice is listed below in the Rules of Conduct.

Designed for young children (typically ages 5 and under) and their caregivers. This session is focused on learning basic skating skills in a safe, slow-paced, and supportive environment. Adults must accompany children on the ice.

Monday	11:30am - 12pm
Tuesday	1 - 2pm
Wednesday	9 - 10am
Friday	9 - 10am

Open to skaters of all ages and skill levels. This is a general recreational skate where families, youth, and individuals can enjoy the ice together at a comfortable pace.

Sunday	10 - 11am
Monday	12 - 1pm
Wednesday	11:30am - 12:30pm
Friday	10 - 11am

Reserved for adults only (18+). This session provides a more relaxed skating environment without children, making it ideal for those who prefer a calmer, steady-paced skate for fitness or leisure.

Tuesday	12 - 1pm
Wednesday	12:30 - 1:30pm
Friday	11am - 12pm

Ice Rentals

All ice rentals are based on an hour: 50 minutes of rental use with 10 minutes for ice resurfacing.

Prime Ice: (weekdays before 9:00 am and after 4:00 pm, all day on weekends, and holidays) $215.55/hr (tax inc.)

Non-prime Ice: (weekdays between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.) $125.82/hr (tax inc.)
