The BIA helps to improve the lines of communication between you, the business community and the Municipality of West Perth Council and Staff.
Marketing and Events - we brand the area, carry out promotional campaigns, and organize and sponsor events.
Advocacy and Member Services - help dealing with the Municipality and community about policy, permits, crime, construction, research, training, etc.
Social Media Promotion - Downtown Mitchell BIA is active on Facebook and uses these tools to promote our BIA members.
Business Directory - You will be listed on the BIA business directory and have the opportunity to include a description of your business, logo and other promotional tools.
Beautification & Maintenance - we look after planters and street furniture, street banners and working with the Municipality on maintenance issues.
1. Open the BIA Newsletter - whether it is delivered or e-blasted to stay connected.
2. Meet with the Board, express your likes and dislikes as well as your goals and how you view your Downtown.
3. Attend any seminars, meetings, or networking events that take place to help your business and educate yourself.

5. Attend the Annual General Meeting (takes place in March of each year).
6. Participate in BIA events.
7. Talk to other members in the Downtown, there is a wealth of creativity and knowledge within our Business Community.
8. RSVP when asked because it helps the Board spend your money wisely and know who and what to expect.
9. Keep your business listing up to date on the BIA's Business Directory.
10. Utilize Free Social Media to its full potential.
11. Let us know what you have going on and how we can help, as well as your contact information changes.

The cost of your membership levy is based upon your commercial assessment. If you are the property owner or you pay the levy (part of your tax) is you are the tenant, you may pay indirectly through your lease agreement.
