ESTABLISHED INDUSTRIES

The Mitchell Ward has three major anchor industries. Parmalat Foods Inc. is a major processor of fluid milk and associated dairy products. Cooper-Standard Automotive (Canada) Ltd. is the Canadian centre for their parts research and development program. The company supplies components to auto plants in Oshawa, Cambridge, Ingersoll, Windsor, Detroit, and other locations in the United States. Durisol Materials, with its creation of the unique treatment process of raw wood fibre being bonded with Portland cement, produces Noise Barrier Walls, Retaining Walls, Acoustic Enclosures, Acoustic and Fire Proof Facings, Rail Treatments, and Wall Form Systems .

These three plants are part of the manufacturing and processing lifeblood of Mitchell and have enjoyed continued success over the years as evidenced by their ongoing expansion activities.
