Policing:
The Municipality of West Perth has a policing agreement with the Solicitor General of Ontario for the adequate and effective policing services in accordance with the needs of Wand its Police Services Board. The O.P.P. will ensure the appropriate response to the Police Services Board advice and priorities in a manner consistent with the Board's identified concerns, expectations, and needs.
An expanded patrol zone has been developed to allow for the joint use of contract and provincial personnel patrolling in re-active and pro-active policing in the community as well as a predetermined rural area.

Police Services Board:

Plus two additional Provincial Appointees and two Municipal representatives.
Police Equipment:
2 leased and fully marked and emergency equipped cruisers with push bumpers and security screens.
Communications/Dispatch Service:
Staff within the Mount Forest District Telecommunications Centre perform incident taking/dispatching responsibilities utilizing the O.P.P. telecommunications system to accomplish these tasks. Local numbers along with the 9-1-1 emergency number and 1-800 numbers for the hearing impaired are utilized.
General Services:
Specialized members of Western Region and Sebringville Detachment provide services to the contract. Criminal Investigations, Court and Community Services, Identification and Technical Traffic Accident Investigators and Regional Traffic Unit, Tactics and Rescue Unit, Emergency Response Team, Canine, Negotiators and Incident Commanders.
Community Initiatives:

- Increased Street Level Drug Enforcement and Youth Awareness
These initiatives emerge from consultation and evaluation of community concerns. They form the primary focus for West Perth and have been developed from a front-line community first perspective and translate into operational priorities.
