A MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR

To Those Persons Accessing The West Perth Web Site:

On behalf of the Council of the Municipality of West Perth, I welcome you to our web site.  West Perth is the product of amalgamating the former town of Mitchell and the three former townships of Logan, Hibbert, and Fullarton into four Wards comprising the new municipality.

The Ward of Mitchell, with a population of 3700, is located at the intersection of Highways 8 and 23.  Mitchell is fortunate to have two core industries, one being automotive and the other dairy production related.  In addition, there are a number of other manufacturing and processing related industries in town.

Mitchell has many excellent passive park areas and a mill pond which provides excellent canoeing and wildlife appreciation opportunities.

West Perth is at the centre of an intensive and diversified agricultural area in South-western Ontario.  Cash cropping and livestock operations dominate this rural industry.

It is with great pride that we say, "Mitchell and area is an excellent place to live, play, and work".  Come visit us soon!
